Business support through
surplus food donations provide the foundation for the efforts of Second Harvest of Greater
St. Joseph.
The food industry has generously answered our call not to let
food
go waste! Local food retailers and wholesalers help to feed people in need by donating to Second Harvest
through our food donation programs that are
quick, safe and cost-effective!
Second Harvest accepts donations of dry, refrigerated and frozen foods, as
well as household goods and personal hygiene items. Second Harvest will pick
up the product from your facility at no charge. We adhere to
strict food safety guidelines and provide complete product tracking,
including recall capabilities.
Additionally, our
Food Rescue Program is a quick, easy and tax-deductible program
established for restaurants, cafeterias and special event organizers.
Second Harvest makes it easy for you. We provide storage containers,
schedule pick-ups that don’t interrupt your business and provide a donation
receipt. We’ll be on our way with your donation to help feed the hungry in
our community.
All food industry donors realize the
tax benefits
for their generosity, and national
Good Samaritan laws
protects donors from civil and criminal liability when donations are made in
good faith. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, Second
Harvest complies with all IRS record keeping responsibilities and will
provide you with the documentation you need to realize the tax benefits of
your donation.
Help feed your bottom line and the hungry by making a commitment to donate
today.
