In recent months, research
has pointed out how food prices affect nutritious food choices and
intake among low-income families. The link between poverty and
consumption of fruits and vegetables is significant because it concerns
a large portion of the population living at or below the poverty level.
Second Harvest of Greater St. Joseph is working with the more than
25,000 individuals we serve each month to ensure they receive adequate
nutrition and education when they receive help from our member agencies.
